The Museum is well on the way to having all its heritage vehicles fully restored to running condition or peak appearance for visitors to inspect. We are now beginning a fundraising campaign, including looking for corporate donors, to complete the restoration of our M113, “Tatts”, in memory of the late Frank Tattersall, killed in an accident while commanding an M113 during training some years ago.

So, what's in it for you to donate and/or volunteer? Firstly, the pleasure of knowing you have made an important contribution to restoring one of our heritage vehicle fleet, one that can drive around the roads as part of the Museum’s mobile display, participating in civilian events throughout Sydney. In doing so, you will also be honouring the memory of a late, great Lancer, Frank Tattersall. We'll enter you all in periodic draws to win a sleeve colour patch of an M113, in either Lancer Blue leading white or RAEME Corps colours. There will also be two major draws for a beautifully made red and white or blue and white lance pennant, perfect for the "billiard room". For those volunteering to work on the restoration, we’ll train you how to do this and also to act as a Museum guide, if you’d like. We’ll even train you how to drive the vehicle, and welcome you warmly into our family of volunteers.

Some relevant skills or experience in working on complex metal machinery and equipment would be nice, but not essential. An interest in doing so, a willingness to learn and some good, old fashioned fault finding thinking, and we’ll take it from there. An interest in history, particularly military history is all you need for us to train you as a Museum guide.

Aiden Helps Out

Aiden McIntosh pictured below with his Dad, wanted so much to help oit funding the M113 Restoration, he made-up a donation jar and took it to his Primary School to get his mates to contribute. He raised $11.10, not the largest donation we have received; but one of the most appreciated.
